If you are an approved nPOD investigator and would like to request slide and/or tissue samples, please contact Irina, the OPPC Lab Manager (npod@pathology.ufl.edu) regarding available inventory (especially for cell requests) before you fill out and submit the nPOD Service Request Form.

Please note: the maximum number of sections per block per request is 10. Please confirm that you have requested the minimum number of slides per block required to complete your assays. The slides will be provided as numbered serial sections. We request that nPOD slides are not used as assay positive and negative slides, rather other available control donor blocks be used for assay controls. All these efforts for minimizing slides per block are based on the need to conserve this precious resource. We further request that investigators use multiple labeling with received slides.
These services are provided by the Organ Processing and Pathology Core (OPPC).
nPOD provides tissue recovery services for pancreata and related tissues from autoantibody positive donors and donors with type 1 diabetes. Tissue from donors who do not have type 1 diabetes is also recovered to provide critical controls for the autoantibody positive and type 1 diabetes samples.
