2013 nPOD Events

nPOD is excited to announce that in 2013 we have many plans to attend meetings, host displays, and offer opportunities to learn more about our program. Please look for us all over the country!

What: American Diabetes Association Display Booth 1881

When: June 21-25, 2013

Where: McCormick Place, Chicago, IL

nPOD will host a display booth, attend presentations and poster sessions, and join in the NovoNordisk 5K Run/Walk on June 24. We're interested in meeting new T1D investigators, as well as learning about new advancements. Please come by Booth 1881 and say hello!

OPO Meetings and Education

We rely on our OPO partners to refer suitable organ donors, so that nPOD investigators can have access to the tissues needed to do research. We attend several meetings each year, working to strengthen our relationship with recovery partners.

Fourth Annual nPOD OPO Workshop

The Fourth Annual nPOD OPO Workshop will be held October 8-10, 2013, in Gainesville, FL. One of the unique services and education opportunities offered by nPOD, invited staff members from the country's 58 OPOs gather at nPOD Administrative Headquarters, based at the University of Florida. For two days, attendees are immersed in learning about nPOD, type 1 diabetes research, and how to incorporate research into their own programs when they return back home. All is not work, though: an annual ritual of kayaking on the Santa Fe river has become famous among our recovery partners.

Details and registration information for the 2013 OPO Workshop will be available in mid-summer.
